Yes. This phenomenon known as “Patina”. The patina on full-grain leather sets it apart from cheaper types like “genuine” or “top grain” leather. It develops from everyday use, with scratches, marks, and darker spots appearing where the leather is touched and rubbed. This natural process is caused by dirt, body oils, sunlight, and wear and tear, giving the leather a darker, softer sheen over time. This aging process, known as oxidation, cannot be reproduced artificially. it simply takes time.
